Hotshot dispatch that knows your weight limit before the broker does.

Hotshot trucking runs smaller, faster loads on a heavy-duty pickup and a gooseneck or flatbed trailer. The work is often urgent and often partial, and the margin depends on finding the right loads within what your setup can carry.

Hotshot dispatch

What hotshot dispatch really involves.

Weight is the limit

A hotshot rig carries far less than a semi, and what you can haul depends on your truck and trailer ratings. We check every load’s weight against your setup before booking it.

CDL or non-CDL

A combination rated over 26,000 pounds, towing a trailer rated over 10,000 pounds, needs a Class A CDL. If your setup is rated under that line, we book loads that fit within it.

Expedited and partial freight

Hotshot freight is often time-critical — a part for a machine that is down, or a delivery that cannot wait for a full truckload. We negotiate rates that reflect the urgency and combine partials when the route allows.

Every empty mile hurts more

Smaller loads leave less room for deadhead. We plan the next load before you deliver, so the truck is not running home empty.

What you get

One agreement, month to month. Rates are quoted per carrier — your equipment, lanes and fleet size decide it.

  • Load boards and direct broker relationships worked all day, matched to your equipment
  • Rates negotiated against what the lane is really paying, not the first offer

Questions

Hotshot dispatch FAQ

What do I need to start hotshot with Smart Haul?

Your own MC authority, insurance and operating documents, plus your truck and trailer details — length, deck type and weight ratings — so we only book what you can legally carry.

Do you dispatch non-CDL hotshots?

Yes. We only book loads that fit your truck and trailer ratings, so you never haul more than your setup allows.

What hotshot freight do you book?

Equipment and machine parts, construction materials, oilfield supplies, and expedited freight from brokers and shippers who need it there fast.
